Suspected cocaine and marihuana found in a vehicle at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, ON leads to the arrest of two individuals Français
HAMILTON, ON, May 23, 2018 /CNW/ - Royal Canadian Mounted Police/ Canada Border Services Agency
On May 13, 2018, a male and female Canadian residents, were intercepted at the Peace Bridge port of entry in Fort Erie, Ontario after making a wrong turn. Examination by a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer revealed an outstanding warrant for the female.
During the secondary examination, border services officers discovered and seized approximately 208 grams of suspected cocaine and approximately 495 grams of suspected marihuana in the vehicle.
The two individuals were arrested and transferred along with the evidence to the RCMP.
The driver of the vehicle, Justice Pagie Teremchuk, 21 years of age of Windsor, Ontario was charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) x 2
The passenger of the vehicle Andrew Korey Norton, 27 years of age of Windsor, Ontario was charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the CDSA x2
- Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to the Criminal Code
Teremchuk was remanded into custody and appeared in court on May 22, 2018 for a bail hearing at the St. Catharines' court house.
Norton was remanded into custody and will appear in court on May 29, 2018 for a bail hearing at the St. Catharines' court house.
