TORONTO, Oct. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Starting December 2013, BRBR TFO, Groupe Média TFO's Francophone emergent music franchise, will begin offering fans of that musical genre a steady supply of programming just for them via a web radio station using the Deezer web-based music streaming service. The new station will come online as the result of a partnership agreement with Deezer Canada that BRBR TFO has signed to expand its presence on the web.
"The December launch of BRBR's online radio station, using the Deezer streaming service, will be one of our first big achievements of the year," said Laurent Guérin, Chief Content Officer. Groupe Média TFO. "We also have lots of new features coming up that will raise awareness of BRBR and thus build the profile of the bands that we have on the show. We're very happy to have Deezer on board as BRBR's first partner."
BRBR TFO series producer David Baeta comments, "We are extremely proud of this new partnership with Deezer, which will help BRBR TFO build buzz about emergent musicians from Francophone Canada while also letting its fans discover new music from around the world. This alliance will let us add rich functionalities to our web site, tfo.org/BRBR. What better way for a franchise dedicated to music lovers to reach its audience than a web-based music streaming service?"
Says Deezer Canada's Managing Director, Justin Erdman, "We're really proud that TFO has chosen Deezer as its partner in this new adventure for BRBR. BRBR is a vital voice for French-Canadian popular culture, and now we're going to let people around the world listen in, thanks to the Deezer platform. More listeners and more music, with a Canadian accent—that's us all over!"
Recently nominated for a Prix Gémeaux for Best Variety or Performing Arts Series, BRBR TFO continues to wow audiences with smart content while creating a unique space where people who love music and people who make it can find each other. BRBR is a family that champions the cause of emerging musical talent and steers clear of traditional production practices - a community that is not afraid to break down the walls of preconceived ideas in the world of music.
