The Biosphere: Enjoy a unique experience that inspires action and involvement in environmental issues Français
MONTRÉAL, June 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, the Biosphere announced its 2018-2019 programming. Canada is committed to raising awareness of the environment and climate change, among Canadians, and the Biosphere is the only museum in North America dedicated to these two themes. During Canadian Environment Week, from June 3 to 9, 2018, the public will be able to take in the Biosphere's exhibits free of charge.
By exploring exhibits such as +1ºC: What difference does it make?, Design the Future, and Planet MTL, visitors will gain a better understanding of climate change and its impact on our health and living environment, as well as technologies that could prove useful in the fight against climate change. Games, entertaining discussions, and unusual experiences allow visitors to learn more about the concrete measures we can take to help the planet.
Don't miss The Roaming Classroom. This outdoor art installation celebrating contributions made by Montréal universities to life in the city will be visiting the Biosphere, from June 7 to 10, 2018. Also, P3 Permaculture will be on site, on June 8 and 9, with its Moving Beyond Sustainability activity, which proposes ideas and techniques for rethinking sustainable development and, as a result, improving quality of life.
Two new exhibits will also be presented this coming year:
- Oceans – Huge photographs bear witness to the wealth and beauty of Canada's fragile and little-known marine environments.
- Inspiring Lands: Years of Enjoyment and Conservation – This photographic exhibit, produced in collaboration with the United States Consulate General in Montréal, celebrates 200 years of the U.S. National Park Service.
A new animated activity on viable communities will also be available at the Biosphere, starting in summer 2018.
