MONTREAL, Sept. 11, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On behalf of the board of directors of the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), the board Chairwoman, Marie-Berthe Des Groseillers, is pleased to announce the appointment of Luce Moreau to the position of President and CEO. Her term of office will begin officially on Monday September 14th.
Among the leaders in philanthropy management for more than twenty-five years, Ms. Moreau has been active in both the United States and Canada as a member of various administrative boards for professional associations, as the head of different organizations and foundations and as a consultant and conference speaker. She assumed the leadership role of the Women's Y Foundation (YWCA Montreal) from 2013 to 2015, served as President and CEO of the Orchestre Métropolitain from 2008 to 2012, the Fondation Centre de santé et de services sociaux (CSSS) Jeanne-Mance from 2005 to 2008 and also the Fondation du Centre hospitalier Jacques-Viger, from 1999 to 2005.
Since 2007, Ms. Moreau has been an internationally Certified Fund Raising Executive. In 2006, she received the Manager Emeritus in Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Quebec chapter.
"Ms. Moreau's extensive experience in philanthropy and fundraising, added to her motivating abilities, her resourcefulness and creativity predict bright success for the Fondation du CHUM, facing, as it is, significant philanthropic challenges in the coming years," declared the Chairwoman of the foundation's board of directors.
For her part, Ms. Moreau is confident in her management role as it relates to reaching the ambitious goals set by the foundation: "The commitment and undaunted readiness of the board of directors and the campaign Cabinet, along with the strength and caliber of the team in place, are priceless assets for success in the new CHUM project and its vision for health."
Ms. Jo-Anne Hudon Duchesne, who for these last months has served as Interim Executive Director of the foundation, has been appointed as Executive Vice President. "On behalf of the board of directors, I wish to pay tribute to the leadership and level of excellence brought to the job by Ms. Hudon Duchesne, in this interim period. With this appointment, the foundation may continue to derive benefit from her great expertise and her untiring commitment toward its mission," concluded Ms. Des Groseillers.
