SHERBROOKE, QC, Jan. 27, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The BMW Suprem de Sherbrooke dealership, which has been managed by Pierre Simoneau for over 25 years, has been purchased by the Groupe Park Avenue automobile consortium. A press conference was held Tuesday to make the event official.
With a desire to start his well-deserved retirement, Mr. Simoneau turned to a long-time business acquaintance, Norman Hébert, president and CEO of Groupe Park Avenue, to ensure the longevity of his dealership. The two men sat together on committees at BMW Canada beforehand, and have known each other for 25 years. "I am very happy that Pierre placed his trust in us to ensure the continuity of the business. When we talked about purchasing the dealership, the decision was easy as the dealership has already built existing loyalty among its clientele through the numerous efforts of the Suprem team, and several opportunities still exist in the Estrie region. For us, Estrie is a natural extension for our businesses, and Sherbrooke is an ideal location for our operations."
Groupe Park Avenue
The Groupe Park Avenue automobile consortium now has 20 multi-brand dealerships and employs nearly 650 people. The organization has operated two BMW dealerships for over 26 years and maintains an excellent relationship with the manufacturer. "Our business' promise is to be recognized by our clients, our industry, our employees, and our community, as the business leader in the automobile sales and maintenance sector. We want to make our clients' lives easier. We believe they deserve to be advised and supported by a solid approach that values expertise and attention to their specific needs," stated Mr. Hébert.
A new name
BMW Suprem will now be called BMW Sherbrooke. "It's a strategic approach of the manufacturer," explained Mr. Hébert. "The name associated with the city will enable our current and future clientele to find us more easily on-line, as well as on social media."
Management
BMW Sherbrooke's management will be led by a resident of the region, Yves Le Bolloch, as the Executive Vice-president. Mr. Le Bolloch has held managerial positions for more than 25 years. He will manage the dealership's operations, supported by Luc Dumas, Sales Manager, Jean-Paul Lachance, Service Manager and Christian Bibeau, Parts Manager, each of whom already held these positions at BMW Suprem. "We want to make the Groupe Park Avenue experience come alive for our clients and we are counting on offering them a welcoming environment where our clients can, in a single place, enjoy a cup of coffee, read a newspaper or work from a distance, while we take care of all their automobile needs. For the first year, we are expecting to sell 250 new vehicles and 150 pre-owned vehicles."
Mr. Le Bolloch has also underlined how important it is for Groupe Park Avenue to be proactive and give back to the community. For this reason a community involvement plan will soon be prepared in conjunction with the organization's spheres of activity for donations and sponsorships regarding healthy lifestyles, family, education and sports.
