The Songes d'été Festival celebrates art, artists, and community during the ten most beautiful days of the summer! Français
VAL-DAVID, QC, July 21, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Les créateurs de rêves, the non-profit organisation behind the Songes d'été Festival, is proud to present its 4th edition, which unites professional and up-and-coming painters, sculptors, dancers and musicians at Val-David's La petite gare, located by the Le P'tit train du Nord trail, from July 30 to August 9. The Festival will be hosting a wide variety of events, including live art, music and dance performances, as well as activities for youths and families. Festivalgoers can also tap into their creative side by participating in workshops ranging from puppet making, observational drawing and hip hop to creating their very own miniature garden!
This year, the humorous and talented musician Michel Robichaud is the Festival's spokesperson, and will be on stage August 1. Songes d'été will also pay tribute to Gilles Mathieu, founder of the legendary Butte à Mathieu, a local nightspot where artists like Robert Charlebois, Yvon Deschamps, and many other luminaries of Québécois culture started out. A bunch of much-awaited bands will also rock the main stage, such as the fast and furious Alan Gerber, the sultry Marie-France Thibault, as well as the up-and-coming bands Patrick Lac & South Heaven and Foreign Diplomats, just to name a few.
Another bit of good news is that most of the Festival's events are free –a few workshops are no more than $10– and only a lovely one-hour drive from Montréal! Join us in celebrating art in one of the most fun and charming destinations the Laurentians have to offer.
