MONTREAL, May 22, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The DNA Committee - the Future of the Fondation du CHUM is very pleased to announce that the 3rd edition of the DNA Experience urban ball will be held this fall in aid of the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM). The ball takes place on October 17 at the St. James Theatre, and takes as its theme the benefits of research and the hope it brings to hundreds of thousands of CHUM patients.
Following the outstanding success of two other events that raised more than $400,000, the DNA Committee wishes to celebrate in its own way the opening of the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM), which took place last fall. This world-class centre of research, with its integrated education and training centre (CIEF), is made up of a team of highly qualified professionals working with state-of the-art equipment.
A performance to look forward to!
This exclusive evening, which will include a cocktail reception and a high-end open bar, will feature a 1-hour performance by Maxime Morin, alias DJ Champion. Maxime's participation is strongly symbolic: he personally came to realize the importance of this highly advanced hospital and its dedicated teams when he was nursed back to health there! As a patient, he saw the impact of the work undertaken by the Fondation, which through its mission supports research projects leading to the development of promising treatments.
Inspiring personal stories
To promote this third edition of the DNA Experience urban ball, a series of short videos will be unveiled in the next few months. In these videos, various patients offer touching personal stories about their CHUM experience and the importance of contributing to research. The first video features DJ Champion, who tells of his encounter with the hospital's professionals. To view his video, go to fondationduchum.com/en/2014/05/dj-champion.
The DNA Committee wishes to thank the generous sponsors of the evening: Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Kyo, Taverne Gaspar, Verses and Cohn & Wolfe.
