Canadians support the Humboldt community in the highest Tim Hortons donut fundraising initiative
OAKVILLE, ON, April, 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Canadians and Tim Hortons® Restaurant Owners have come together to show their support following the Humboldt Broncos tragedy. Born out of Restaurant Owners' desire to help with fundraising efforts, Tim Hortons launched a green and yellow Humboldt Broncos Strong Donut, with all proceeds going directly to the junior hockey club. The generosity from Guests has been truly inspiring, raising $801,066.27 from both donut purchases and Guest donations for The Humboldt Hockey Club in Saskatchewan.
"We are humbled by the remarkable showing of support from our Restaurant Owners and our Guests for the Humboldt community following this unimaginable tragedy," said Sami Siddiqui, President, Tim Hortons Canada. "It was incredible to see the response from our Guests, with some buying hundreds of donuts at a time. We are so thankful to Canadians for all of their contributions and we are proud of our Restaurant Owners for making this happen."
Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners at participating locations in all ten provinces donated the full $1 from every donut sold. The Humboldt Broncos Strong donut is the highest donut fundraising initiative in Tim Hortons history. Tim Hortons will present the funds to the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Club on behalf of all Guests and Restaurant Owners on April 23, 2018.
