Live events program promotes benefits of going public in Canada for U.S. SMEs
TORONTO and SAN DIEGO, Feb. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) kicked off a five-city U.S. series of TSX Ignite events today at Torrey Pines near San Diego, California. The free, half-day events highlight the benefits of listing on Canada's premiere equity markets.
TSX and TSXV's specific expertise in supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make the Exchanges effective capital-raising venues for U.S. SMEs seeking to grow. TSX Ignite events feature keynote addresses from recently listed TSX or TSXV companies and expert panels with representatives from two leading investment banks, two accounting firms and two legal advisors and provide an overall understanding of how Canada's equity markets can be a growth platform for U.S. businesses. The events will also facilitate one-on-one discussions with campaign partners on cross-border legal, accounting and banking considerations. In addition to the full scope of going public resources on hand, this year's program includes a profile of TSX Private Markets, a new service designed to help companies gain access to exempt market capital in Canada.
"The U.S. market is a key contributor to the success of our markets," said Kevan Cowan, President, TSX Markets and Group Head of Equities, TMX Group. "TSX Ignite events serve to raise awareness of our unique two-tier exchange ecosystem and promote TSX and TSXV as an excellent financing alternative for U.S. companies."
TSX and TSXV are home to over 130 U.S. companies, more than any other exchange group outside of the U.S. More than $7 billion has been raised by U.S. companies on the Exchanges since the start of 2012.
TSX and TSXV will visit four additional cities as part of TSX Ignite 2015, including Minneapolis in June and Seattle, Phoenix and Houston dates planned for the fall.
