OPP Advise Motorists to Pre-Plan and Be Patient
ORILLIA, ON, Jan. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are warning motorists to be aware of potential traffic disruptions when undertaking travel planning in the days ahead.
Protest activities may interrupt the normal flow of traffic on highways, including 400-series highways, and at international border crossings throughout Ontario this weekend. The OPP is working with those involved to minimize the impact on the traveling public and to ensure order and public safety.
The traveling public is advised to check ahead for road advisory information and to monitor local media for the latest updates and alternate routes.
"Our objective in maintaining traffic safety is to work to restore orderly flow in the safest manner possible. The OPP and our partners appreciate everyone's patience in dealing with traffic disruptions respectfully," says Chief Superintendent Don Bell, Commander of the OPP Highway Safety Division.
