Woods hires second team based on the strength of the candidates
Four ambassadors set to embark on the adventure of a lifetime across the Trans Canada Trail
TORONTO, May 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Woods Canada today announced that two couples – Cedric Schell and Magee Walker from Whistler, British Columbia, and Melba Seto and Adam Kochanek from Calgary, Alberta – have been hired as the ambassadors for the 'Ultimate Canadian Dream Job.' Selected from more than 3,800 online submissions, Cedric and Magee and Melba and Adam will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, five month, 14 stop journey across the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) – from British Columbia through to Prince Edward Island. The world's longest networks of multi-use recreational trails, the TCT is nearly 17,000 kilometres long and links Canadians in nearly 1,000 communities from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
In late March, Woods Canada launched a historic quest to hire two true northern navigators and passionate storytellers who share a love for the Canadian outdoors. After the interview process, however, the team at Woods was so impressed by the strength of the candidates that they couldn't imagine the Dream Job trek with just two adventurers – so they hired four.
The two couples stood out from the pack and will be added to the Woods Canada payroll for the summer, testing products as they hike, climb, paddle and portage their way across the country. As brand ambassadors, these bold couples will also capture and share content through social media channels to give the public a glimpse into the excitement and action of their remarkable journey.
"We were so impressed by the response to our job posting and the number of passionate, outgoing, adventurous and extremely enthusiastic candidates who love the Canadian outdoors. We can't wait to follow these two couples on their adventures across the country," said James Prescott, AVP Product Development Outdoor at Woods Canada.

Melba is a dental hygienist who is trained in ski patrol, EMT, survival instruction and scuba diving.
"The TCT is being developed by Canadians for Canadians so we are delighted to partner with Woods Canada to see these four intrepid explorers out enjoying the Trail, and to have them sharing their experiences with the rest of Canada," said TCT president & CEO Deborah Apps. "We hope their stories, blogs and photos will inspire others to learn more about their nation's Trail and support us in our goal to fully connect it by 2017, Canada's 150th birthday."
The Trans Canada Trail is a nation-building project being realized by provincial and territorial Trail groups across the country. Currently 75 per cent connected, the TCT is on a bold mission to fully connect our national Trail by 2017, Canada's 150th birthday, and to being the natural stage for celebrating our majestic landscapes and our proud Canadian journey from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
