HEATTECH Giveaway Tour Across Five Cities Includes Donation of 5,000 Items to Charities
TORONTO, Sept. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - UNIQLO today announces a total of 50,000 HEATTECH items will be given away in 5 cities across Canada including Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg. A total of 5,000 items will be donated directly to local charities across Canada.
HEATTECH is thin and warm innerwear, an item of clothing meant to be worn under clothes, that UNIQLO and Toray Industries of Japan developed together to keep people warm and comfortable. It absorbs moisture from the body to generate heat, while air pockets in the fabric fibres retain heat. It has evolved over the years to become thinner, lighter, smoother, and warmer, transforming winter fashion around the globe. It is an ideal item of clothing for people across Canada spending long hours working outside in freezing temperatures.
"We are pleased to be donating 5,000 HEATTECH items to charities and giving away 45,000 items in five cities across the country starting this Thursday, September 6 in Toronto," said Yasuhiro Hayashi, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO Canada. "We're excited for Canadians to discover HEATTECH, a product so central to everyday living that for many people it is the definition of LifeWear, clothing thoughtfully created to make everyday life better and more comfortable."
Toronto will be the first stop in the HEATTECH Giveaway Tour, from September 6 to September 9 during the Toronto International Film Festival. As well as entertaining film lovers on Festival Street, UNIQLO is also supporting TIFF Community Initiatives to provide HEATTECH to vulnerable communities in Toronto through their community partners, including Eva's Initiatives for Homeless Youth. The HEATTECH Giveaway Tour will also stop at four additional cities, including Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver. HEATTECH donations will be made to local charities in each city.
