TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Whisky Rocks - a celebration of Canada's best music and whisky - returns Thursday, November 7 with platinum-selling Vancouver band, Theory of a Deadman (theoryofadeadman.com) live in concert. Performing at the London Music Hall, 185 Queens Avenue, London, Ontario, tickets are on sale now.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., as part of LCBO's annual fall whisky promotion, enjoy hors d'oeuvres and discover the unique tastes of five premium Canadian whiskies. This year, sample Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Whisky, Canadian Club Classic, Crown Royal Maple, Forty Creek Copper Pot and Wiser's Spiced Vanilla Canadian Whisky.
The evening also features performances by the top three finalists from the Whisky Rocks Showdown Competition - an unforgettable opportunity for musicians and bands ages 19+ to open for the main act.
To enter, bands can upload their original music demo to Whisky Rocks Showdown Competition at whiskyrocks.com between September 23 at 10:45 a.m. EST and October 11 at 4:15 p.m. EST.
The finalists with the most votes will be announced at whiskyrocks.com on or around October 30 at 4:15 p.m. EDT. They will face off on stage November 7 at the Whisky Rocks Showdown Concert, where a panel of judges and Theory of a Deadman will select and announce one grand prize winner of a $5,000 gift card for musical instruments and equipment for Long & McQuade (long-mcquade.com).
For only $30, attendees can enjoy music, taste a variety of Canadian whiskies and rock out to a full closing set by Theory of a Deadman.
Tickets are available online at londonmusichall.com/events/ in person at the London Music Hall Box Office, 185 Queens Avenue, or at the door. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Dixon Hall, a United Way member agency, and its youth programs which include opportunities to attend music school and music camps across Ontario, with participation of youths from London-based service organizations.
