OTTAWA, Feb. 12, 2016 /CNW/ - Canadian Medical Association (CMA) President Dr. Cindy Forbes will speak to the changing face of health care in Canada at the Canadian Club of Ottawa on Tuesday, February 16th, at noon.
In her address entitled "Better is possible: Time for a new era for health care in Canada", Dr. Forbes will address critical health issues such as seniors care, a new federal Health Accord, and end of life care—all of which will have a significant impact on physicians and their patients in the months and years to come.
As we enter a "new era" for health care, with a federal government committed to modernizing the delivery of care across the country, Dr. Forbes will encourage politicians, physicians and the public to build on this momentum to create positive change. This will require innovation, collaboration and persistence.
The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is the national voice of Canadian physicians. Founded in 1867, the CMA is a voluntary professional organization representing more than 83,000 of Canada's physicians and comprising 12 provincial and territorial medical associations and 60 national medical organizations. CMA's mission is helping physicians care for patients. The CMA will be the leader in engaging and serving physicians and be the national voice for the highest standards for health and health care.
